Food and Beverage

The food and beverage industry poses very different challenges in terms of work safety. From harvesting, raw materials transport, storage, preparation, manufacturing processes and packaging: each stage of value creation in the food and beverage industry has its own setting.

Due to these wide number of very different processes; such as fumigation in the grain industry, ammonia-based cooling processes within cold storage, mixing beverages with carbonic acids as well as working in confined spaces (e.g. for tank service and cleaning), companies in the food and beverages industry face diverse risks.

Dust, toxic or explosive gases and vapours, as well as a lack of oxygen are just some of the many typical causes of accidents in the food and beverage industry.

Boilers used in food processing facilities also pose explosive risks which need to be mitigated by using adequate fire and gas detection systems. The use of a flame and gas mapping assessment can help identify the optimum system design to meet the required protection for the personal, asset and the environment.
